‘Born a Hundred Years Too Late’

Holloway, known for his role in ‘Lost,’ stated he feels “born a hundred years too late” due to his struggles with technology and worries about the decline of practical skills. He recalled growing up in the Georgia mountains, emphasizing the importance of traditional skills like building fires and growing food, which he believes are being lost.

‘One Second After’ Film Adaptation

The concerns are highlighted in the upcoming film adaptation of William R. Forstchen’s novel, ‘One Second After,’ starring Holloway as John Matherson, a former Pentagon analyst who must protect his family and community after North Korea launches EMP attacks. The film, directed by Scott Rogers, depicts a rapid descent into a medieval-like existence where technology fails.

Movie’s Warning and Themes

Holloway described the movie as a “warning,” emphasizing the vulnerability of modern society to such an event. The film showcases the immediate consequences – supermarkets emptying, hospitals failing, and transportation collapsing. Despite the bleak setting, Holloway believes the story offers a valuable lesson about resourcefulness and community resilience.
